This post is filled with fun winter activities for couples you must try!

Winter activities with your significant other are the best. It makes the season so much better spending it with the person you love! These activities will bring you closer, make more memories, set new traditions, and have even more to be grateful for.

Most of the activities listed won’t break the bank and will allow you to have fun with your significant other. Enjoy the Christmas and the winter season to the fullest!

The Ultimate List Of Winter Activities

1. Yearly Christmas Ornament

When my now fiancé and I first started dating in 2011, we started the tradition of buying an ornament every year at Christmas time.

I love the idea of doing this for two reasons. The first reason is that you now have this tradition highlighting Christmas together and you’re building your ornament collection with loving memories!

2. Build A Snowman

Who doesn’t love building a snowman? I truly haven’t made one in so long mainly because the winter snows haven’t been the same since I was a kid.

However, if you live in an area where snow is no stranger, then you should do this activity! You could make it more fun by doing a contest and seeing who is better!

3. Open An Advent Calendar Together

Out of all the years, my fiancé and I have been together, we have not done this activity. Now thinking about it, I’m not sure why. When making this list I thought of this activity and can’t wait to do it this year as a married couple!

4. Make Cut-Tie Blankets

This activity is my favorite. I love blankets but I love making these blankets and giving them out as gifts! You can find tons of fleece fabric from Joann’s Craft store and begin making your warm and cozy blanket.

5. Watch Your Favorite Christmas Movies

I love a good wholesome movie marathon at any time. However, at Christmas it makes the whole season feel nostalgic as you watch your favorite movies and remember how you felt as a kid watching them and wondering what Santa was going to bring.

6. Decorate the Christmas tree

I don’t look forward to putting the tree together. However, decorating the tree is always fun.

You could have Christmas music playing in the background while you unpack the ornaments and decorations while reminiscing on old times!

7. Donate/Volunteer To A Shelter

I’ve always wanted to do this and for some reason, I haven’t achieved this. I think helping out a food drive or a homeless shelter anytime would be rewarding to help others in your community.

During this holiday season, you could give back by doing something that helps the less fortunate in your local community.

8. Make Each Other A Goodie Bag Of Your Favorite Things

This is a fun one! You both go to the store and buy however many items you both decide on and purchase them that you know or think they might like. When you get home switch the bags and see what you both got each other!

The items could be anything!

9. See Christmas Lights

It never fails to jump in the car and drive around looking at all the cool and creative lights people and businesses display. It truly does make you feel like a kid again seeing all the different lights.

10. Do A Fun Winter Activity In Your Local Area

I never thought of doing this one because Christmas alone is always filled with some pre-existing plan.

However, you should see the activities going on in your local community and make a date night doing something new in town!

11. Take Your Fury Friends To See Santa

I have not been able to do this yet and can’t wait to achieve this experience this year! When I first found out about taking your pet to see Santa at PetSmart, Covid hit and pretty much took the fun out of everything.

Now that things are going back to normal I can’t wait to take my cat to see Santa. I know he won’t mind because he falls for every new person he meets!

12. Decorate Sugar Cookies

I don’t bake usually, but at Christmas time I love a good dessert of any kind! Not to mention baking cookies is always fun to do with anyone! You can make a bunch of cookies and give them out to the neighbors, or friends, or bring them to Christmas dinner!

For this activity take it a step further and make sugar cookies in different shapes and decorate them with icing and finishes!

Game nights are always the best you can play cards with your s/o or you can make it more fun and invite over friends and make the experience more fun!

15. Have A Ginger Bread House Contest

You could either decorate one together or battle for the best gingerbread house. If your s/o is competitive like mine, then it’s best two grab two kits from your local grocery store and let the best gingerbread house builder win!

It’s a fun activity and will make memories! Make sure to take pictures!

16. Find A Recipe For Homemade Hot Chocolate

I love hot chocolate. I was that kid that drank hot chocolate in the summertime and didn’t care who was watching.

Homemade hot chocolate is even better than the instant version. Research a splendid hot chocolate recipe and make the best version of this popular drink!

17. Send Out Christmas Cards

Sending and receiving Christmas cards is always a nice touch! You can keep it simple and add a sweet note with a cute picture of you both, or you could get creative and do something silly. The options are endless with a Christmas card!

18. Schedule A Couples Winter Photoshoot

Getting photos done was never my favorite thing to do. However, it’s needed as you get older together and you have photographed memories to look back on.

You don’t have to go all crazy (unless you want) when decorating the outside. However, decorating your house inside or outside will further put you in the Christmas spirit and is another activity to do together!

20. Host A Christmas With Friends/Family

I am not an ice skater and haven’t attempted it since I was in the 4th grade. However, it is a fun activity for others and if it’s something you want to do, do it!

A snowball fight is an old favorite and anyone would love to do it. Not to mention it’s great exercise and memories you’ll keep forever!
