How to find the best gift ideas for anyone

I learned the hard way that gift-giving doesn’t have to be perfect. In fact, when you focus on the sentiment of the gift it oftentimes makes the gift finding/giving even better.

There are many different types of gifts you can find/give. In this post, I want to go over the different kinds of gifts and how to save time and money on the perfect gift ideas for anyone/anytime!

Specific Gifts

This is an easy one and an automatic given, but we’ll go over it anyway.

Did the person you are currently shopping for say what they wanted exactly? Most times someone will openly say what it is they want, you buy it and the rest is history. This option is honestly easier when shopping for someone but it isn’t always the scenario.

However, if it’s an item you feel like you may not be able to swing or the person isn’t very open on what they want, then keep reading.

Thoughtful Gift Ideas

These are always great gift ideas when you really have no idea what to get someone. You can simply think of a time, place, or memory that genuinely reminds you of that person and put it in a gift.

For example, you could gift a friend their favorite photo, poster, or work of art in a beautiful frame to display in their home.

If it’s your friend and they’re saving up to travel to Germany, you could gift them a subscription to learn German before their trip!

Giving a simple gift with a lot of thought to it is always a great gift to give anyone. The gift will be great but the thought behind it will make it better.

Self-Care Gift Ideas

This option is always my favorite mainly because everyone can enjoy some self-care here and there!

With self-care, you can add almost anything. For example, you could do at-home facials, mental wellness journal, skin care tools, a personal development book, etc.

DIY Gift Ideas

Who doesn’t love a good DIY? With this gift idea, you could easily find a DIY kit for any project or person.

Whether it be a nail dip kit, a facial/skin care recipe, a cookbook or you make them a cut-tie blanket, the possibilities are endless. Giving a DIY gift is a fun activity for the creative soul in the group.

A DIY gift can be made by you or a project they can do on their time. If you aren’t much of a DIYer then gifting them the project will be a better fit.

This is a great gift idea for anyone in the family/friend category including kids!

Gift Ideas For The Senses

You could do one gift or multiple with these gift ideas.

For example, you could get someone their favorite scented candle, a warm soft blanket, their favorite movies, and snacks!

All of those options hit each sense point of sight, smell, taste, touch, and sound wrapped up in all of their favorites! You can never go wrong with picking out someone’s favorite things.

Finding the perfect gift doesn’t have to be hard. I remember walking aimlessly through stores hoping the perfect item(s) would jump out at me. Talk about a huge time waster!

Once I began getting creative and thinking more about the type of gift, gift finding became way easier and more enjoyable. If you have been doing it the hard way, I highly recommend you try out these tips to find the perfect gift!
